When is Feb 48?
Every February at the ArtsCenter in Carrboro!
What IS Feb 48?
Feb 48 is a 48-hour one-act play festival! Writers are given prompts on Friday night, the groups have scripts by Saturday morning and rehearse as much as they can until Sunday afternoon, where they put all the pieces together in the theatre for the big show on Sunday night!
Sounds fun, how can I be involved?
Each group is comprised of 4-5 actors, a director, and a stage manager/assistant director (SMAD), as well as two writers for each group. So there are plenty of ways to be involved! As long as there are enough spots, actors, directors, or SMADs can also write. No matter what you do, make sure to fill out the form for it! (Scroll down)
What if I've never acted in, directed, stage managed or written anything before?
This is the PERFECT time to try it! You only need to commit to one single weekend, and it is a ton of fun for everyone involved. Especially because the plays are about 10 minutes long, Feb 48 is a great time to experiment with new things.
Wait, there are auditions for actors?
Yes! JUST ACTORS have to audition, but don't sweat it, you don't need to prepare anything at all. Auditions are primarily for us to be able to meet everyone and place people into groups.
What if I have a conflict with the festival?
Just email us! Obviously, some conflicts may make it more difficult for you to participate in the festival, but most conflicts should be doable as long as you let us know.
What if I'm registering after the deadline?
That's okay too! The price rises to $20 after actor auditions but you can still register and participate! We will sort you into a group and you'll meet that group when you pay your fees, too.
